There seems to be a continuing trend happening in Singapore – the high end food court complete with well stocked bar. With the recent opening of Timbre+ and PasarBella at Suntec, among others, when a group of friends want to grab a beer and a bite to eat but can’t decide on the type of cuisine, they can head to one of these new food court concepts. Not only does it allow everyone to get what they want, the prices are often better than a typical restaurant and the food quality superior to an average hawker centre. Here are our favourite unique food court concepts in Singapore.
Picnic is a 10,000 sq-ft communal food hall located in Wisma Atria with a quirky outdoor dining theme. Hence the name ‘Picnic’! Picnic provides an international range of cuisines, including American, French, Italian and Japanese as well as a coffee bar and cocktail bar. The theme is enhance with food truck looking stalls and a beer garden seating area among other theme dining zones.
Newly opened Timbre+ takes the food court concept and covers it in graffiti and shipping containers. Inside the non air-conditioned space is the option of a variety of cuisine including pizza, an American grill and a bottle shop for your cold bottles of beer. Most importantly the draw to Timbre+ is the live music stage offering music performances on Wednesday to Saturday nights. Open Monday to Thursday 6am to 12am and Friday & Saturday 6am to 1am. Closed on Sunday.
