The folks at the Pan Pacific Orchard Road have come up with a sweet way to raise your blood sugar levels during a busy afternoon in Singapore’s shopping mecca. Amongst the finery of the Lobby Lounge in the hotel, a sumptuous Champagne Gourmet High Tea is served from 2-5pm - with more cake and champagne - supplied by 200-year old Champagne house, Laurent-Perrier no less - than is probably good for you!
A smorgasbord of delectables is served - under the watchful eye of the über efficient staff - to the sounds of a perfectly programmed lounge piano and the vaulted ceilings of the lobby.
Three silver tiers of hors d'oeuvres, classic sandwiches and tapas of Parma ham with melon and olives, hummus and tomato sandwiches, as well as and freshly baked scones are among the light snacks available.
There are also ‘à la minute’ creations from the complementary ‘Plates of Pleasure’ menu - which showcase petite-sized Penang signature dishes, such as the award-winning ‘Peddler’s famous char kway teow’ and tangy ‘Assam laksa with barramundi’.
A premium buffet spread of tapas, cold cuts, cheeses, salads and decadent desserts is also available.
