The Principal Madrid, a new hotel under 'Design Hotels' has opened for business on Madrid's Gran Via. The Spanish Renaissance building which dates back to 1917 now incorporates an eclectic design concept by designer Pilar García-Nieto and Barcelona-based studio, Luzio. The mix of styles includes influences of a posh British club, the flamboyance and glamor of a palace in France, and the modern masculinity of a Manhattan loft.
The hotel boasts a restaurant by acclaimed chef Ramón Freixa and a rooftop terrace and bar, with a sundeck looking over Madrid and beyond.
