Update: Potato Head Folk is now open. Read our Three Buns Singapore Review
Indonesia's Potato Head Group (PTT Family) is opening up a new drinking and dining destination in Singapore opening at the beginning of JUNE 2014 in a historical building on the buzzing Keong Saik Road.
Potato Head Folk will be 4 destinations in 1 building, combined together with the feel of a private house. Each floor representing a different room of the house. The first floor acting as the kitchen, will be the burger restaurant Three Buns that continues to the second floor, its living room. The third floor, is the home's private artist's studio with Studio 1939 – a drinking den. Then the rooftop its garden, with The Rooftop – a tropical open-air bar.
The burger restaurant Three Buns, is promising to be pretty exciting with Chef Adam Penney from London’s ‘Patty & Bun’ behind the menu. Expect high quality meat combined with homemade sauces and fresh ingredients which can be enjoyed in either a casual hawker centre feel on the first floor or with table service on the second. While the first floor offers outdoor dining, the second floor is much more homey being designed and decorated in collaboration with Australian artist David Bromley. Expect a style that is inspiring and whimsical with beautiful bird and butterfly paintings.
Studio 1939, an intimate bar, is a glamorous reinterpretation of Bromley’s Melbourne studio. This floor showcases a selection of modern art selected by Bromley, juxtaposed with traditional Chinese heritage pieces and completed with vintage furniture sourced from around the world. Open from 5pm until 1am, the bar will operate a policy of reservations only.
The Rooftop is an escape. A chance to relax amongst fragrant herbs, exotic flowers and tropical plants whilst appreciating the stunning views across Singapore. Incorporating Tiki cocktail culture, expect a tropical ambiance, tiki cocktails created by Dre Masso and barbecue dishes.
