Tennis legend and world #1 Serena Williams in town for the WTA Finals, hosted an exclusive event at Sofitel So Singapore for members of Le Club Accorhotels and showcased her passion for French culture. We enjoyed a special Apple Tart Normand dessert created by Serena Williams and the hotel's resident culinary designer and Singapore's first female hotel executive chef, Anne Cecile Degenne.
I mingled with Serena Williams, Sofitel So Singapore staff and Le Club Accorhotels members and it was wonderful having the chance to speak French and share my passion for tennis. Serena is a woman of style and passion (on and off the court) and this intimate evening was a rare opportunity to get to know the woman behind the racquet.
The canapés were incredibly delicious, so much so that after the event, I asked Executive Chef Anne Cecile Degenne to send me the menu. Voilà, bon appetit:
- Vine tomato and Mozarella di buffalo
- Crispy truffle quail egg
- Iberico ham, and aged parmesan tartelet
- Chili crab tacos
- Crispy shrimp and yoghurt cilantro dipping sauce
- Lobster risotto
