Whether you are familiar with Caribbean food or not, Lime House is place to get excited about. Housed in a multi-storey shop house on Jiak Chuan Road, Lime Houses promises a good time with a menu of exciting Caribbean cuisine and rum punch cocktails not to be missed.
Behind the concept of Lime House is owner Chris Morris whose family originates from Trinidad & Tobago and Trinidadian chef Hasan Defour. Expect to see a menu of traditional Caribbean dishes served with class.
Our first experience at Lime House was at an opening party with non stop rum punch cocktails on the second floor where the party lasted long into the night. Nibbling on Caribbean cuisine between sips of rum punch, these guys know how to throw a party and ensure a fun night for everyone.
Impressed by the cuisine, we had to come back to try full servings of the food and bring along Tom's mom, a born and raised Trinidadian to sample it along with us. Seated on the first floor of the restaurant for lunch we ordered up Caribbean Fish Cakes, Lime House "Wings & Tings" and Soup of the Day to start followed by Curry Goat, Jerk Chicken and The Catch of the Caribbean for mains and a Deconstructed Pina Colada for dessert. All presented beautifully, the food was excellent and received Tom's mom's stamp of approval. Our recommendation for a must try is the Jerk Chicken. Great sauce, spices and just the right amount of BBQ flavour. Not to be missed. The Deconstructed Pina Colada is another one of our favourites.
