New Zealand’s National museum has a little something for everyone.  Whether it’s rain or shine Te Papa makes for a great day out that you cannot leave Wellington without experiencing.  Situated right on the waterfront with 5 floors of exhibitions and collections spanning from Art, History, Pacific, Natural environment to kids activity areas there’s enough to keep even the most active of minds entertained.  It is famed for having the only colossal squid in the world and is the best place to learn and experience all about the culture which is so important and prevalent in historical and modern day New Zealand.  It’s free to visit and is open late during the week, be sure to find out which travelling exhibitions are on while you’re in the area. Most are free however some of the bigger collections may have a fee.
