The waterfront in the CBD is the best place in all of Wellington to spend a sunny day. Wellington’s waterfront has activities galore no matter what your outdoor hobby of choice is. You can find a few playgrounds and open grass areas for the kids to play, bike and quadricycle rental as well as boat and canoe hire. There’s also a skate park, basketball courts, beaches if its warm enough and endless cafés, restaurants, and bars. On a Sunday in the parking lot next to Te Papa Museum you can also find a fresh produce market and food stalls selling everything from fresh wood fired pizzas, Brazilian BBQ meat, fresh mussels fritters, Indian food, Asian food, German sausages, gourmet coffee, the list is endless.
For a few minutes of peace and quite from the kids, set them up in front of the puppet show while you relax and enjoy the crisp sea breeze and sunshine.
