We're not the only ones who love The Shan Restaurant. Lonely Planet and the Routard Guide vote The Shan Restaurant to be the best local restaurant in Myanmar. It offers excellent, beautifully-presented cuisine based on traditional Shan recipes with a European influence.
The downstairs area offers a place to lounge and relax on comfortable wicker chairs while enjoying a cocktail or two from the fully stocked bar. Upstairs, the balcony offers views of the lake and boats roaring by while being sheltered from the sun.
If eating in a beautiful restaurant isn't enough for you, ViewPoint Lodge can also arrange for you to dine on their wonderful cuisine in the middle of the lake on boats converted into dining areas. For those who would like to learn how to make the local cuisine, cooking classes are available on site and include a trip to the local market to pick up ingredients.
