Lobitos – Surfer’s Paradise in Peru

Lobitos Peru Boats on Beach

Just a few hours south of Mancora you can find Lobitos, an off the beaten track surf town renowned for its left hand waves.  Underdeveloped and slightly run down Lobitos has a nice charm about it, quite long beaches with no one around but other surfers there to spend as much time in the waves as possible.  Bare in mind most people here are hardcore surfers as there isn't much else to do and the waves are only for experienced surfers.  There are no bars or nightlife to speak of and it is a bit more expensive because it's a 40 minute drive from any proper city and most accommodation is very basic.  There are a few places on the beach that do food and accommodation deals for around $40 a day.  We stayed at Nacho's a small family run hostel which was extremely basic but it did serve an amazing pizza! After a couple days of amazing sunsets and perving on surfers me and my girlfriend set off for Mancora to get our party on!
